Ordering and payment
How can I pay?
You pay securely with the methods you see at checkout. The payment runs over a secure connection and we do not store payment details ourselves; they never reach our servers.
Straight after your order you get a confirmation by email, with the invoice attached.
Where do I enter a discount code?
At checkout, in the field above the total. The discount is applied immediately, so you see what you pay before you pay. If a code does not work, send us a message before you check out. Reversing an order afterwards to stick a code on it is more roundabout for both of us.
Can I still change or cancel my order?
As long as your parcel has not shipped we are happy to adjust it, whether that is a different product, a different address or cancelling. Send us a message with your order number as soon as you can and we will intercept it.
If it is already on its way, simply use the thirty days to change your mind: you do not even need to open the parcel. We send the return label and refund within five working days of receipt.
Do I get an invoice with my order?
Yes, you get it automatically by email as soon as your order is confirmed, with everything on it you need. If you need an invoice in a company name or with a different address, tell us with your order or send us a message afterwards with your order number. We redo it and send it the same day.
I did not receive a confirmation email.
Check your spam or promotions folder first: the first email from an unknown sender often lands there. Not there either? Then a typo has usually crept into the email address. Send us your name and the day you ordered, and we will look up the order and resend the confirmation to the address that does work.
Can I order as a salon or business customer?
You can. If you work in a salon, want to take a larger quantity or need an invoice in a company name, send us a message through the contact page with what you are looking for. You will get an answer from someone who thinks along, not from a form.
Shipping and delivery
When will my order be delivered?
Order before 22:00 on a working day and your parcel leaves the same day, so you have it the next day in the Netherlands and Belgium. Order at the weekend and it goes out on Monday.
What does shipping cost?
In the Netherlands and Belgium, nothing: shipping and returns are both free there, whatever the amount. So nothing is added at checkout that you had not counted on.
Ordering from outside the Benelux, you pay shipping costs that are shown at checkout before you pay. Within the EU from €9.95, and free from €150.
Do you ship to Belgium as well?
Yes, and on exactly the same terms as in the Netherlands: ordered before 22:00 on a working day, delivered the next day, and shipped free. Returns are free too, so you run no extra risk just because you live across the border. Our customer service speaks Dutch and is available on working days as normal.
Can I track my parcel?
As soon as your parcel has been collected you get a track-and-trace link by email. With it you follow the parcel to your door and see roughly when the courier will come by.
Do you deliver at weekends too?
We ship on working days. An order placed on Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday goes out on Monday and is with you on Tuesday. A parcel sent on Friday can be delivered on Saturday, but that is the carrier's call, not ours.
My parcel is damaged or has not arrived.
Send us your order number, and for damage a photo of the box and of the device. We will sort it out with the carrier; you do not have to chase an investigation yourself. You hear from us what we are going to do for you, a replacement or your money back, and we arrange that before the search is finished.
Do you deliver outside the Netherlands and Belgium?
Yes. We deliver throughout Europe, in Canada, the United States, Mexico and beyond. What it costs and how long it takes depends on where you live; you see the amount at checkout before you pay. Within the EU that starts at €9.95 and is free above €150.
Outside the EU the recipient pays import duties and VAT on arrival. We cannot collect those in advance, so they are not part of your order total. The full overview per country is in our shipping policy.
Returns and exchanges
Can I try it at home?
Yes, and we mean that seriously. You have thirty days to change your mind and the device may well have been used in that time. We actually want you to test it properly on your own hair, on an ordinary morning, because that is the only moment you find out whether it suits you.
If it turns out not to fit, we send the return label and you get your money back within five working days. You do not have to give a reason.
How do I register a return?
Send us a message with your order number through the contact page, or use the form on Exchanges & returns. We send you the return label. Put the device back in the box, stick the label on and hand the parcel in. There is nothing else to do and nothing to pay up front.
May the product have been used?
Yes. Judging a styler without using it is impossible, so we do not ask that of you. Keep the box and the separate parts together and that is enough for us.
When do I get my money back?
Within five working days of your return reaching us, to the account you paid with. You get word as soon as we have received the parcel, so you do not have to guess where it is.
Can I exchange for a different model?
You can. Let us know which model you would like instead; we send that one and take the first back, settling any price difference. Still unsure which model it should be? Describe your hair first, then we can think along before anything travels back and forth.
Warranty and repair
What does the warranty cover?
Two years of full warranty on every device, from the day you receive it. That covers everything that can fail under normal use: the heating element, the electronics, the switch and the cord.
If you report a fault, we settle it within one working day in most cases and we pay the shipping both ways.
Do I need my receipt?
No, your order number is enough, because that is in our system. Lost it? Then we can find your order by your name or your email address too.
My device is faulty. What now?
Annoying, and we will fix it. Send us your order number with a short description of what happens, preferably with a photo or a short clip, because that often shows us straight away what is going on.
If it falls under the two-year warranty we handle it free of charge, usually within one working day, and you get the return label from us. No queue, no menu options and no call centre.
My device does not heat up or switches itself off.
Try a different socket first and leave out the extension lead; a faulty socket looks surprisingly often like a broken device.
If it switches off while you have put it down for a moment, that is probably the automatic shut-off and nothing is wrong: the V+ Straightener goes into sleep mode after five minutes and switches off completely after thirty, and the Tourmaline Straightening Brush also turns itself off. If the device stays cold, it is usually the heating element or the cord, and that is covered by the warranty.
Does the warranty apply if I got it as a gift?
Yes. The warranty attaches to the device, not to whoever paid. Ask for the order number, or send us the name it was ordered under, and we will look it up for you.
Do you repair outside the warranty too?
Souvent, oui.
Which device suits me
Is this suitable for my hair type?
Our devices are made for every hair type; the difference lies in the model you choose and the temperature you work at. Torn between two stylers? Describe your hair through the contact page: how thick, how long, coloured or not. You will get concrete advice within four working hours from someone who uses the products themselves.
What is the difference between the One Touch Stripes and the V+?
The One Touch Stripes is built for unruly hair that normally takes three passes: 24 carat gold in the plates with silicone stripes between them, at 220 degrees in ten seconds, and flexible plates that curl just as well as they straighten.
The V+ is the calm everyday styler: tourmaline heating, a vibration function that keeps the section moving against frizz, and a memory function so it remembers the setting you work at. Want one device for straightening and curling, choose the One Touch Stripes; want the same fast result every morning, the V+.
Are the products suitable for hair extensions or weaves?
Yes. The Ionic Hair Dryer and the Paddle Brush with boar bristle are in fact popular with extensions and weaves: the negative ions prevent frizz, and the brush spreads your scalp's natural oil down the lengths, something extensions do not produce themselves.
If you work with a styler, choose a lower temperature and stay a few centimetres away from the bonds. Unsure about your type of extensions? Send us a message and we will think along.
Does this work on thick, coarse or afro hair too?
Yes, and then the right temperature matters more than force. Choose 220 degrees, work in sections of no more than four centimetres and pull through calmly instead of repeating. If you have to go over the same section more than twice, the setting is too low; pulling harder does not help and does cost hair.
What exactly does an ionic hair dryer do?
It blows negatively charged particles along with the warm air. They take the static charge out of your hair as it dries, and that is why it does not frizz afterwards. In practice you notice two things: it goes faster, and you do not need to reach for a straightener afterwards to repair what the dryer did.
Which brush do I need?
The Paddle Brush with boar bristle is for everyday brushing: nylon pins lift out tangles before they set, the boar bristle spreads the oil from your scalp down the lengths. You use that one without heat.
The Tourmaline Straightening Brush is a heated brush: brushing and straightening in one movement, for the morning when a styler is too much fuss. If you only want to detangle and care for your hair, you need the first one.
Does the diffuser fit every hair dryer?
The Hair Dryer Diffuser is made for the Ogé Exclusive Ionic Hair Dryer and fits it exactly. On another brand's dryer it may fit, but we would not dare promise that. A diffuser that falls off halfway is more dangerous than no diffuser.
Use and technique
Which temperature do I choose for my hair?
180 degrees for fine, thin, blonde or damaged hair. 200 degrees for normal hair. 220 degrees for thick, coarse or unruly hair.
Always start at the lowest setting that does the job: one calm pass at the right temperature gives more shine and less damage than five quick ones that are too hot. If you find yourself going over the same section more than twice, move up a setting rather than pulling harder.
Can I also make curls with a straightener?
Yes. The plates of the One Touch Stripes are rounded and flexible, so you can turn the section around them instead of only sliding along it. Take sections of no more than four centimetres, turn the styler half a rotation and pull down slowly.
Then let the curl cool in your hand before you let go, because hair sets while it cools and not while it is hot. Do that and the curl easily holds for two days.
Can I style while my hair is still slightly damp?
Better not. Water under a hot plate becomes steam, and that steam forms inside the hair shaft. That is exactly the kind of damage you see back in your ends months later. Blow-dry completely first, even if it is only a few strands. It saves time as well, because dry hair needs one pass.
Do I need a heat protectant?
Yes, every time you use heat. It is the cheapest insurance there is for hair that has to last years: a thin layer along the lengths, not on the scalp, and let it sink in before you start.
How long does it take to heat up?
The One Touch Stripes reaches 220 degrees in ten seconds and the Tourmaline Straightening Brush is ready within a few seconds. After that, give the device a moment to hold that temperature as well: the first section comes out best if you have fifteen seconds of patience.
Does the device switch itself off?
The V+ Straightener goes into sleep mode after five minutes and switches off completely after thirty; the Tourmaline Straightening Brush also turns itself off if you leave it lying. Handy when you are running out of the door, but not a habit to build on: pull the plug when you are done.
Does my device work abroad?
Yes. Our devices run on 110–240V, so you can use them worldwide. Outside Europe all you need is a plug adapter, not a voltage converter.
Can the styler go in my hand luggage?
Yes, a straightener, curling iron or hair dryer with a cord may go in hand luggage. The only exception is cordless models with a gas cartridge, and we do not sell those. To be safe, check your airline's rules, because they differ per country.
How often can I style my hair without damage?
Daily is fine, provided you work at the lowest usable setting, use heat protection and do not keep repeating over the same section. If your ends go dull or start to split, that is almost always a sign the temperature was too high, not that you styled too often.
Care and lifespan
How do I care for my styler?
There is residue on the plates. How do I get it off?
Residue is dried-on styling product and comes off cold, not hot. Lay a damp cloth with a drop of mild soap on the plate for a moment, wait a minute and then wipe lengthways. Never scrape at it: a scratch in the coating pulls at your hair and does not go away.
What is the best way to store the device?
Coil the cord loosely rather than tightly around the handle. Winding it tight is by far the most common cause of a faulty cord, and it is exactly the kind of damage you can prevent yourself. Keep the styler somewhere dry, not in a closed drawer while it is still warm.
How long does a styler last?
With normal daily use and a bit of care our stylers last for years. We regularly hear from customers who have been working with theirs every morning for five years or more, and that is exactly why we dare to give a full two-year warranty. Coiling the cord loosely and wiping the plates now and then makes the biggest difference in practice.
